Safety Practices.
CBC has a safety program in place as well as policies and procedures. All CBC employees are trained on this material upon date of hire. Signatures of completed training are on record. Each employee receives a company safety program and policies and procedures manual.
Weekly toolbox safety meetings are held either at the shop or on site and are conducted by the foreman on the project. All CBC Foremen and Project Managers are 30 Hour OSHA Trained and all employees are at 10 Hour OSHA Trained. All CBC employees are forklift and man lift/ scissor lift trained. Records of these certifications are on file.
CBC utilizes temporary labor and manpower supplied by temporary labor agencies. CBC foremen are instructed to inform temporary employees hired through temporary agencies of scope, work to be performed, of possible hazards and to utilize all necessary PPE and safety practices while completing assigned tasks.
All CBC employees are trained to be aware of surroundings, take precautions and be aware of possible hazards to other workers, store personnel, and store customers. CBC employees are instructed to utilize any and all safety measures, practices and precautions while completing tasks including but not limited to: Protective Eyewear, Gloves, Hard Hats, Face Shields, Ear Protection, Dust Masks, Protective Clothing, Barricades, Caution Tape, Lock Out/ Tag Out, Safety Harnesses, Safety Lanyards, Proper Use of Tools and Equipment, Work Area House Keeping, Ladder Safety, Scissor/ Man Lift Safety, Forklift Safety and Vehicle Safety.
CBC Employees are required to comply with all other safety programs, policies and procedures including those of the project owner or general contractor of the project we are working on. If the safety program or the safety requirements of the owner or general contractor is greater than CBC’s those safety requirements will supersede CBC’s safety requirements and CBC employees associated with the project are made aware of the increased expectations.
Cheney Brothers Construction (CBC Specialty Contractors) strives to train and instruct our employees on the latest OSHA Standards, safety programs, Covid-19 CDC and State and Local Health Departments requirements, and to comply with them.
Our Safety Rating or EMR (Experience Modification Rate) is 0.68 - below the industry standard.
